The Fraudulent Farmgirl

As the Fraudulent Farmgirl, I teach garden and homesteading skills—the stuff your grandmother knew how to do—but if there’s a faster, cheaper, or easier way to do it, I’ll find it! I’m also the lead garden designer for Spotts Garden Service, where we design, install, and maintain beautiful, earth-friendly gardens.

The Fraudulent Farmstead is my home base, a playground and ongoing experiment in urban homesteading. I’ve raised chickens in the backyard and ripped up the front garden to plant vegetables and fruit trees. I knit, sew, and thrift-store shop like a fiend to create useful, beautiful stuff on the cheap.

Welcome to The Fraudulent Farmgirl!

  1. Hello

I am from Bookmamas in Irvington and am sponsoring a lecture series at the Iris Tea Room(130 South Audubon). Would you be willing to speak about your experiences Urban Homesteading there on Thursday evening, April 28, 2011?

    Thanks. Kathleen

Hi Kathleen! I’d be happy to talk to my fellow Irvingtonians about the Fraudulent Farmstead. I’ve sent you an e-mail.

  2. I love it. I’m a fraudulent city girl, but doing many of the urban farming things you are doing. Without the chickens- so far! I’ll look forward to hearing about your adventures.
